Working with Jerks

Tomorrow we will be working with jerks all day long.  You may be wondering how this is different from any other day, but I’m talking about putting things overhead.  Like the other Olympic lifts, the jerk is an explosive exercise.  An object is moved from the shoulders to a locked-arm position overhead in a single movement, during which the load being moved achieves a sort of weightlessness.  The split jerk is the more popular of the two styles due to its more forgiving nature with regard to placement of weight overhead.  We’ll be practicing the footwork, making bars weightless, and locking them out.  Come in and work with a jerk that will actually make your day better.
