We Want Your Stories

The Garage Games were great.  There’s certainly more of that to come, but we’ve got a big, awesome community of outstanding individuals traveling to far off places, and testing the fitness they’re developing here in ways other than CrossFit competition.  We want to know about it.

Many of you have already heard my story.  I think I had the best summer ever.  Sure, I got to compete in the CrossFit Games, but the real highlight was getting hitched to the love of my life, Lesley.  While we were in the Bahamas post-wedding I found a cabana by the beach where I could hang my gymnastics rings.  Les got this shot of me before I almost broke my face and the cabana doing ring handstand push-ups.

If you’re traveling to an exotic local, or have an event, snap a few pictures, and send them over with a short blurb (or a long one), so we can share your stories with our CrossFit family.  Who knows, it may lead to some company on your next hike/race/adventure.  Bonus points for rocking a CrossFit Fenway t-shirt, or pulling off the CrossFit cliche with a handstand or L-hold.

*The barbell begins on ground, must be cleaned, jerked, and racked to begin squats. Immediate 5 burpee penalty any time the barbell is dropped during a set of squats.

Announcements
Registration is now open for the Garage Games New England Finals to be held at CrossFit Southie on November 12th and 13th.  Competitors in the RX division need to be proficient with all barbell movements at 95#/65# and able to do unassisted pull-ups.  Scaled division athletes need similar competence at 65#/45# and able to do purple-banded pull-ups.  Click here to sign up.

    WOD – 6:32 (50kg, 1 abmat HSPU – not happy about scaling to wall climbs for last 5 reps…)

    Strength – 1 rep max for front squat: 225lbs (a 27 lb PR!)
    WOD: 6 round couplet
    10 Toes to bar (almost)
    30, 25, 20, 15, 10, 5 Wall Ball 20#
    15:50… would really like to get those Toes-to-bars soon.
