Two November Weekends, Two Competitions

This past weekend Christina N. headed down to Canton, CT and represented CrossFit Fenway in the “Mama Said Knock You Out” CrossFit Moms Competition.   I don’t have all the details, but heard Christina put up a 15# PR on her jerk.  I know she worked very hard to get ready for this, and can’t wait to hear about her first competition.

Next weekend CrossFit Fenway has a small army of athletes competing in the Garage Games New England Finals at CrossFit Southie.  To our competitors, as I’m sure you know, the workouts are up.  Please let your coaches know if there’s anything we can do to help as you make your last minute preparations.  If you’re not throwing down next weekend the proximity of this event makes for an excellent opportunity to check it out, and support your CrossFit Fenway teammates.  I’m excited to see our community out there representing CFF in a big way.  Who knows, by then we may even have some new gear to rock…

  1. Congrats Christina! Big props to you (and all of the moms who competed) for putting in all the training and prep time on top of your normal day-to-day juggle.

PC — 44kg…got 45.5 x 2, failed the 3rd and then got one more good rep

WOD — 11:36 @ 40kg. Far too many single-rep C&Js, I’ll file this in the “looked easier on paper” category.

  2. PC: 45kg for 3. I got 50 up 3 or 4 times, but sadly could not get them in a row. It was 1…fail. Wait a few seconds…1…fail. Wait a minute, breathe, talk myself up…1…2…epic fail that was barely even a deadlift.

WOD: 9:49@40kg. I finally decided that I needed to actually jump to the pull-up bar since I’m competing in 5 days. I figured it’d be motivation to not break up the TTB. It was. But I was super happy that I only failed one attempt and actually didn’t die.

  3. Excellent job, supermom Christina. Looking forward to watching you compete this weekend too!

    PC – 65kg – PR
    WOD: 12:36 @ 60kg & “toes-near-bar”

  4. PC: 42kg Failed on third at 45kg. Next time I’ll do as I’m told and “make 45kg my B^&%$”

    WOD: 12:55 @ 35kg and TTB.

    Thanks for the pointers Haley!!!!

Congratulations, Christina! You were amazing this weekend! I hope to see you again soon. Give a big, huge, kiss and hug to Stacey K. for me who was my coach away from home! Loved spending time with you both this weekend!!! I can’t wait to see your new space!

  6. Great job Christina!

    Power Clean: 70kg
    WOD #1 for Southie (AMRAP 7: 7 Power Snatches 95#, 10 Wall Ball 20#)
Before I started I was thinking 3-4 rounds, so I’m happy with this.
