It’s been about 8 months since Tabata Something Else was last programmed. This is an opportunity for those of you that have done this before to demonstrate some real improvement. There’s a couple of different ways to go after Tabata intervals, either all out, let the chips fall where they may, with no regard for your score from one interval to the next, or the intended method wherein a score is targeted, and you fight to hit that number every time.
If I’m after score maximization, I prefer the latter. The all out approach will yield high scores in the early intervals, but could lead to very low scores by the end. I like to pick a number, and adjust it if needed. Will I go all out in the last couple rounds for extra points? Of course, but through the first half to three-quarters of the workout I want a consistent, efficient, point scoring pace. Whatever way you decide to attack it, Tabata Something Else you will give a great workout.
