Tuesday we’re moving the hands in, the feet out, and working the sumo deadlift. The sumo stance is favored by powerlifters, because generally more weight can be moved in comparison to a traditional deadlift with a more narrow stance, as the bar has a shorter distance to travel from the beginning to the end of the movement. By switching up the setup we’ll be using, and strengthening different muscles than the standard deadlift. The ability to better utilize more of our muscles makes us more complete athletes, and even better at moving large loads, long distances, quickly.
