I love sausage. Chorizo, spicy or sweet Italian, you name it. Every time I go to a Sox game I see The Sausage Guy first for one of my favorite ballpark treats/cheats.
At least once a week Lesley and I cook up a package of Al Fresco Spicy Jalapeno Chicken Sausage (pictured left). It’s available at several grocery stores, and very easy to cook up with a plate full of veggies in a bit of olive oil for a quick, delicious dinner. Yes, there’s quite a bit of sodium in there, and I’m sure you could look for other flaws with some part of the content, but one package (contains 4 servings) has 60g of protein, and only 8g carbs, in 520 calories. If you don’t like spicy, other flavors are available. With our crazy schedules, and the quick prep time, this is definitely meat worth trying.
