Quick Post, Lots of Announcements

Got done coaching, put the toys away, and got out of the box a while ago, but still got lots to do to get myself together, and get back in there in a few hours.  It’s just the facts about tomorrow’s classes, with a whole lot of announcements about ongoing and upcoming events.

July 21st, 2010

Skill: Agility Drills

Strength: Overhead Squat 3-3-3-3-3

WOD: Compete 5 rounds for time of:
4 Jerks (70kg/45kg)
8 pull-ups
Sprint to Kilmarnock and back

There’s a couple chances to spend some quality time with Trainer Steve while he’s in Boston.  Wednesday night, at 8ish he’ll be at Publick House in Brookline, enjoying the opportunity to sleep in a bit Thursday morning.  On Thursday evening at 8 PM Steve is hosting a “Maximize Your Membership” get together for anyone interested in learning more about how to get the most out of your CrossFit Fenway experience.

Giant Bicycles, our new neighbors on Kilmarnock Street, are having a grand opening this Saturday.  Stop by, check it out, and prepare for the possibility of a Giant Invasion.

Also this Saturday, Kristin Pineo is hosting a barbeque at 6 PM.  Please click here to RSVP.

Our friends at CrossFit Boston are hosting a Whole9 Nutrition Workshop on Saturday, July 31st.  Register and join them for a practical, straightforward, interactive discussion on the important role nutrition plays in your overall health and fitness.

Registration for Fight Gone Bad 5 is open.  This event has raised more than $2 million in the first four editions.  This year LIVESTRONG, Wounded Warrior Project, and the CrossFit Foundation are benefiting from the fundraising efforts.  Sign up, and join in this great community event as part of the CrossFit Fenway team.

Please e-mail Eric if you’re registered to run in the BAA Half Marathon, and/or you’re interested in joining the CrossFit Fenway team for the Spartan Race, so we can get organized for these two upcoming events.

The Sox aren’t at Fenway Wednesday, but Celtic Football Club, and Sporting Clube de Portugal are, so there’s no parking during evening classes.

  1. As far as the bbq is concerned, if I know you’re coming from an FB communique or a scouts’ honor verbal commitment, no need to check the link. Usual suspects: that means you.

  2. OHS: 60kg – Thanks to Trainer Steve for showing us some torturous stretches and for great tips on the OHS! Hope you come back soon for some more training.

    WOD: Thought I had this Rx – I was wrong! 9:38 (i think) @ 60kg

Great job 5:30 class! – Justin you really killed it!

  3. It was an honor and a privilege to finally meet the infamous Mr. Rast, thanks for getting up early with us Steve.

    5:57 RX

  4. “Hey, look, it’s the Incredible Shrinking Pope!”
It’s good to see you, too, Trainer Steve. Welcome back, sir.

OHS – 60kg (NEED to strengthen wrists – I know I can move a lot more weight than that…)

  5. 10:12 30kgs
Steve: thanks again for pushing me to up my weight…felt great when I was finished!
    Now about those quad stretches…

  6. OHS 50 kg – definitely one of my weaker lifts
WOD 12:09 Rx – most reps were push presses, not jerks. Just like with cleans/snatches, I need to work on dropping under the bar.

  7. PNF stretching is NOT fun. soooo painful. thanks for taking pictures of our misery, KP. feel free to delete them whenever you like.

    WOD 9:55 Rx

  8. 10:45RX – WOD

Brutal. Love the heavy weight but killed myself with broken and failed sets. Thanks for the encouragement Logan.

  9. *Free* Tickets to Celtic v Sporting tonight at Fenway Park.

I have two extra tickets for the game tonight ($50 seats) that I can’t get rid of after two friends flaked out at the last minute. I figured if Im gonna give ’em away, Ill give ’em to CFF’ers. Great seats in the Celtic Supporters section, lower fieldbox seats.

First person to email me gets (2) free tickets ($110 value!).

Hit me up at mcacommerce@hotmail.com before 7:30.

    Go Celtic!

  10. 85kg OHS
    7:07 WOD RX

couldn’t keep up with Justin’s pace, I was stopping way too long after my sprints (which were more like light jogs cause I suck at running).
