Off the Board and into the Blog

It’s been a month since the goals board went up.  Many of you posted goals, but what have you done about them?  Props to Sam who got his first muscle-up, is feeling pretty good about his 2x bodyweight deadlift goal, and overhead squatted Scrappy (grainy photo below).  I know a lot of you posted goals with dates that seem to be far off in the future, but Thanksgiving and the new year (target dates many of you have selected) are right around the corner.  Talk to a CrossFit Fenway coach, get to work, and get after those goals, so we can tout your success with a fuzzy photo too.

Strength: Press 3-3-3-3-3

Move through three stations for one minute each for four rounds.  A one minute break is allowed between rounds.  The stations are:

  1. Kettlebell Swings, 24kg
  2. Box Jumps, 24″
  3. Ring Dips

The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. On call of “rotate” you must move to the next station immediately.  One point is given for each rep.

***No Invasion this Saturday, October 16th

Work on your agility, coordination, and balance.  Join your CrossFit Fenway friends at the Havana Club in Central Square on Saturday, October 23rd at 9 PM, for a night of salsa dancing, socializing, and fun.  Lessons and libations are available to help you learn the moves.  Like any WOD, proper footwear can help performance, so try to avoid rubber-soled shoes that will grip the floor and make turning more difficult.

The Beast of the East throwdown at CrossFit New England is Saturday, November 6th.  Our athletes are getting ready.  Mark your calendars, and get ready to come cheer on your CrossFit Fenway teammates.

Compete in the most physically demanding obstacle course available on Saturday, November 13th in Marshfield at Ruckus Boston 2010Stephanie Schneider is helping to organize the CrossFit Fenway team.  Please contact her if you’d like to participate, as discounts are available for teams.

  1. Fun work out today! 🙂
Press- 35KG (failed my 3rd rep twice)

    WOD: scaled- 1.25kg KBS – red band pull-ups- 24 ” box jumps
    score= 226

  2. This was one of those WODs where the “get stronger vs. get points/time” quandary came into play. I started with Stronger, went to Points in the middle but dragged myself back to Stronger for the last round. Thanks Stacey for pushing me along!

158 — some unassisted ring-dips (10 in first rd), some red band ring-dips, some 20kg KBS, some 16kg KBS. 20″ box jumps.

  3. Press: 55kg – That last rep I was shaking all over. Felt good to put it up though.
WOD: 289 Rx. – Box jumps were a great place to start on this workout. Need to get stronger on the ring dips.
Great job 5:30pm class. Evening classes are fun! I’ll try and make it to them more often.

  4. Press- 42kg .. not too happy with this
WOD – 219 rx .. first official rx wod with ring dips.. didn’t get many but every rep counts, right?

    awesome job today, tiff!
