Remember back in mid-March, and the beginning of the 2011 CrossFit Open.  The anticipation of the announcement of the first workout.  The delay of the announcement.  The fury of the online masses at the delay of the announcement.  The excitement/terror once we learned the makeup of the first workout.  The subsequent extension of the first week into 2 because of the delay and other technical difficulties, leading to many attempting the workout time and again, hoping for a couple reps of improvement (yours truly included).  Ah, memories.

Wednesday you can relive some of that excitement/terror as we try CrossFit Open 11.1 again.  The Open is right around the corner, set to begin in just 8 short weeks on February 22nd, so now’s a good time to revisit some of the workouts to see how you’ve improved, or to get a feel for the type of things programmed.  Whether you plan on participating this year or not, this is a great, deceptive workout to test yourself against.

  1. this is such an adorable pic of yosh! i love it.

snatch: 30kg but not very comfortable. i need a lot of technical work on this one.

wod: 3+27 Rx. i really needed to connect more of my snatches, a lot of them were very broken up.

  2. PS — worked on form at 30kg, but honestly my max probably isn’t much higher right now.

WOD — 3 rds + 43 reps Rx, SO close to the 4-round goal. I can pinpoint at least 4-5 times during the 10 min where I could have made that up instead of staring at the floor. Sneaky WOD indeed.

  3. Snatched 155 lbs I think I matched my last PR and I didn’t have double unders so I got three rounds plus 97 reps. I’ll take it lol

  4. snatch: 50kg…definitely worked on form, which felt good
wod: 4+41 rx. first round of du’s was rough, then found my groove.
    happier tonight than last night!
