The skill of the week is the handstand push up.  Developing strength to kick up to a handstand and then learning to balance upside down is a great way to work body awareness and core gymnastics strength.  If you have never kicked up to a handstand we will start there.  If you can get upside down we will begin working your pressing strength.  Do not worry it is all scalable.  Who knows, you might see handstands on Friday!

Skill:  Handstand Push Ups

Strength:  Overhead Squats 5-5-5

WOD:  Pull Up Madness

We will have plenty of parking all day Monday.  Red Sox are taking a rest day.

    Also, huge props to Evan for making my gawd-awful kipping form look like it’s got some grace to it.

    I don’t know what Pull Up Madness is, and I’m scared as hell. Gotta love it!

  2. No pullup bars here in Iowa, so Chandra and I did “Burpee Madness” instead. (I got 15 full rounds completed – round 16 was impossible in a minute.)

    1. Oh thats gotta feel wonderful! I had 75 burpees in even before the warmup started (I was shooting for 210)! 15 burpees in 1min is impressive! Good job!

  3. 70kg OHS – since cutting down on my fats and carbs, my strength has significantly reduced.

    17rds on WOD, plus the biggest gash on my hand from a torn callus – I’m def off of the bar for at least a week!

    1. 50kg OHS. I dropped the 60kg bar on my head which was far more humiliating than was painful
