It’s All Been Done

Tuesday’s all about jerks.  Whether you’re using a push or a split as you work towards a one rep max, you’ve done this before.  We literally did this exercise and rep scheme on April 21st, but what I really mean is the driver of a good jerk is an explosive opening of the hips, and in CrossFit we all do plenty of that.  Box jumps, kettlebell swings, cleans, snatches, wall ball shots, and many other movements require a fast, aggressive extension of the hip for best execution.  Tuesday we’re applying that energy we’re so familiar generating to put the bar straight overhead.

Conditioning for Tuesday is a 10 minute version of Cindy, which we last did on April 7th.  20 minute Cindy was most recently an option on June 25th.  This is a 10 minute sprint, and your goal should be at least a couple more rounds than half your full Cindy score.

Fight Gone Bad has raised more than $2 million in its first four editions.  This year LIVESTRONG, Wounded Warrior Project, and the CrossFit Foundation are benefiting from the fundraising efforts.  On Saturday, September 25th we’ll be running our heats.  Justin Shaughnessy has raised $1,800 to date, ranking him third among all fundraisers! CrossFit Fenway has raised a combined $2,402, placing us 7th among all affiliates.  Register today, and join the fight as part of the CrossFit Fenway team.

Please let Eric know if you’re registered to run in the BAA Half Marathon, or for the Beast of the East Throwdown at CrossFit New England, so we can coordinate leading up to the events.

The Sox are on the road all week, so parking is available all day Tuesday at CrossFit Fenway.

Justin, you can throw some serious weight up brotha, next time I can’t reach the larabars I may just have you toss me up there!

Haley, great movement on those jerks and pushin through the WOD. Thats an awesome accomplishment!

I look forward to workin out with ya at some point Shrujal!

    2. That must have been a sight to see, you’re a machine!

The 20-min Cindy in June was one of my favorites thus far, with the exception of minutes 17 through 20…

  1. Jerk- 75kg
    Cindy- 8 rounds Rx

i’m pretty happy about this for 2 reasons..the last time we did cindy for 20 minutes, i could only get through 9 rounds… AND i think this is the first time ever that my hands haven’t bled while doing pull ups in a wod!

    1. Haley – amazing work on the rx pull-ups! – someone has been doing her homework! and WHAT! on the 75kg jerk! That is awesome! – looks like we have another contender for sectionals next year!

  2. Word – Half Cindy: 6 rounds, +5 Pulls, Rx. It’s been a long way since my first Half-Cindy in December, which was 3 rounds, knee-push-ups, green/purple band.

    Jerk – 60kg.

  3. Jerk 85kg
    WOD 10 rds + 14

Definitely have more for the jerk, but my split gave me all of 2″ of depth. May as well have been a push press. Need to work on it.
