Constantly varied, functional movements performed at a high intensity is the definition of crossfit. Functional movements are movements that are multi joint, core to extremity, and allow us to move large loads long distances quickly and efficiently.
The workouts are constantly varied so that we are ready to take on anything.
The high intensity piece is what gets us our results. “Intensity is defined exactly as power, and intensity is the independent variable most commonly associated with maximizing favorable adaptation to exercise.” The harder you decide to push yourself the fitter you will be. Intensity is what makes crossfit awesome and hard. The harder you push the better you get. Also, intensity is usually the difference between doing okay at a workout and crushing it.
Success in crossfit shouldn’t just be measured in how much weight was lifted, your final time for the workout, or losing inches off your waist. Challenge yourself to push harder. There is a lot of satisfaction in knowing you can push through the pain and give it your all. Crossfit is a mental test as well as a physical one. When you go through todays workout push yourself to the limit and go fast.

I did the same thing with about the same results, Dan. Frickin rough. The thrusters were the fun part. And the burpees.
(The other fun part is having condo neighbors gawk at me doing thrusters and burpees.)
Now I’m gonna go cut my legs off just above the knees.
