Goal setting is essential to keeping us motivated, and achieving our goals is a sign of our hard work and dedication. While peoples’ goals may range from achieving their first pull up or muscle up, shaving time off of their 5k, or just looking better in that new pair of jeans, there are more attainable goals to keep us motivated on a daily basis.
There is a lot to be said about the mental side of crossfit. Being mentally stronger doesn’t require us to lose weight or put 20kg’s on our squat. We can set daily goals to push harder in workouts. Those goals could be as simple as not resting on burpees, not going to the chalk bucket or touching your water once the workout starts, or telling yourself that every time you pick up the kettle bell that it won’t get put down until you finish the set. These goals break down mental barriers and are just as fulfilling as setting a PR.
