Full Foot Over Box

Ask any one of our members who competed in the Beast of the East throwdown, and they’ll tell you about the added element of difficulty, and subsequent frustration with full-foot-on box jumps.  We’re going to save you some aggravation, but maintain a high degree of difficulty with jumps over the box.  It’s clear cut, either you make it over, or you don’t, and it’s clearly challenging.  Like everything in CrossFit, this is scalable.  The size of the box can be adjusted, or the movement can be subbed for standard box jumps (open your hips at the top) or step-ups.  There will be no guessing whether or not a tiny piece of your bright blue or red Inov-8 tread is hanging off the back of the box.

This week I start my CrossFit Strength Bias program. Over the winter I will be working on getting bigger and stronger while at least maintaining metcon performance. I’ll be deadlifting, pressing, front and back squatting every week in both max-effort and high rep schemes. Today I did:

    FS: 85kg x 5
    HBBS: 80kg x 20

  3. jumping OVER the 20″ box was one of the scariest things i’ve ever done. much thanks to aaron for making me do it!
