I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when Trainer Steve stuck a business card in the driver side door of my car, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack… it grew by one. So there… there were 2 of us in the wolf pack… I was alone first in the pack, and then Trainer Steve joined in later. And seven months ago, when Trainer Steve introduced me to JT, and we met all of you guys, I thought, “Wait a second, could it be?” And now I know for sure, I just added 94 more people to my wolf pack. 96 of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Boston, looking for heavy stuff to pick up and move long distances as fast as possible. So tonight, I make a toast!
Thanks to everyone who came by and kept me company today. You all kicked ass. We’re back to regularly scheduled classes tomorrow, and I’ll be coaching all of them. It’s pretty much like any other day at CrossFit Fenway, you come to workout, I’ll be there. Stop by, say hello, and see if you can get a muscle-up.
Oh, by the way, CrossFit Fenway has been voted Best Health Club in Boston by readers of the Boston Phoenix. Thanks to everyone who voted.

The Red Sox are back home Friday to start a 10 game home stand, so there is no parking for the evening classes.
Our friends Erin Johnson and Sarah Whiting are participating in the Wrentham Duathlon this Sunday. Check out the website, or get in touch with Erin or Sarah for more information.
Do you have a phone bank in the gym? I’m not getting a sig on my beeper.
No, but Caesar did live here.
Annie? Yay!
Now that is some wolf pack.

As of yesterday, I’ve been CrossFitting for 3 months . . . and what an awesome 90 days it’s been. As irony would have it, Annie was my very first CF experience . . . came in for a free trial, nearly puked 3 times, and signed up for 8 months on the spot! LOL
Quick stats at 12 weeks:
Down 11 pounds (just 12 left to go!)
Down 3-4% body fat
Shaved 90 seconds off of my fastest previous 1 mile training pace
Can do a ridiculous amount of push ups (up from maybe 7 – 8 when I started)
Can do 3 unassisted dead hang pull ups (up from zero)
I’m starting to look forward to box jumps (yes, I realize that is crazy 🙂
Thanks to everyone I’ve been training with, you guys all rock so much!
See you tomorrow at the Invasion. 🙂
Awesome work, Shawn. Those are some remarkable performances. See you tomorrow.
Thats so awesome, Shawn! Congrats! You always have such a good attitude…I love it.
This week marks 3 months in Crossfit for me too..and when we did Annie back on 1/15 for one of my first WODs, it took me 20:32 (I don’t know what the hell was wrong with me. I’d like to think I was trying to do double unders for part of it but I can’t be sure). Today I did it in 9:46 (w/singles). If thats not proof that crossfit works, I don’t know what is.
Thanks Jon and Haley! 🙂
Congrats Haley, that is an awesome improvement . . . doesn’t that feel awesome?! 🙂
You’re running the marathon on Monday, right? GOOD LUCK!!! I know you’ll crush it!
