While I’m disappointed in my score, and the fact I wasn’t able to meet most of my time goals, I’m pretty happy with the last couple months of training, and the fact that I completed my first marathon.  On the positive side of the ledger, it was a PR as far as distance covered, and my preparation was apparently better, as I didn’t feel really terrible until the last few miles.  Thanks to Lesley for being there to support me on yet another adventure, I couldn’t do it without you.  I’m looking forward to spending a majority of the coming weeks with a barbell, not running around the track, but for now it’s a well earned pizza, back into the cold tub, and plenty of sleep.

    1. SDL — 92kg

      WOD —
Baseline #1 = 4:58 Rx (got the sub-5 goal, yeeeeeah)
      Total = 13:35 (#2 = 5:37 Rx)

So many PRs for folks today, I love it!

  1. Nice job Eric! Your training has served you well if you only felt REALLY terrible at the end. Stairs are going to be tough for the next few days. Lots of mobility for you.

    Sumo dead lift: 75kg

CF Baseline: 4:54 first round, 13:04 total. Green band for the pull ups (the fewest bands yet!). Arms are still recovering from Mary on friday.

  2. congrats, coach!

    sumo DL – 110kg

    baseline on 1/7/11 – 7:11 (green/red bands)

    baseline today – 4:59 / 13:51 total (green band)

a 2:00 improvement on an old PR is a good way to kick off the week, no?

  3. eric, congratulations! although i’ve never run a marathon, a race at a new distance always has a really steep learning curve, and i can only imagine what that’s like for a marathon.

Sumo: stayed a little bit light because i suck at dead lifting of any kind so i wanted to focus on form. worked up to 60kg comfortably.

    4/28 – 6:40 Rx
10/17 – 5:31rx and 5:47 Rx with room still to improve especially on pull ups and push ups

  4. Sumo Deadlift: 85kg A good 15-20kg less than my regular deadlift. Definitely an awkward grip.

WOD: 5:40/14:40 total Rx Second interval was only 20 seconds slower and a good 10 seconds of that was the row.

  5. sweet work Eric!~ What a great day for a race yesterday.
No PR’s, but my first pregnancy baseline! he he
SDL- 100 kg- last set looked sloppy!
    Baseline- 6:33- second round around 7 min…
pull ups are at about 1 at a time and my usual fast air squats were gently paced until the last ten (moved faster, had to catch my breath after my row- recovery time is hindered)-
I love going in the morning!

  6. Sumo DL: 110 kg (back not feeling good today)

    WOD: 4:41/13:17 Rx

last baseline was 5:34. first time breaking 5 minutes, woo hoo! i know i can get below 4:30 next time if i string together all 10 pullups.

  7. well done coach!
sumo DL: 130kg. previous DL (non sumo) pr was 125 x 1, so felt good about that
    WOD: 4:35 / 13:04
can’t find my last baseline time, but I know it was over 5 mins. better overall, but squats are still the weak link.

  8. Sumo DL: 130kg
    WOD: 4:26/13:12

Beat my previous baseline by 49 seconds, but almost felt like dying after the second round of this.
    Great job Coach Eric!
