Final Fight Prep

Fight Gone Bad 6 is this Saturday, September 17th!  We’ll be running heats at CrossFit Fenway beginning at 11 AM in lieu of an invasion workout.  If you’re registered as part of the CrossFit Fenway team, please be sure to sign up for a heat, and arrive early to warm up.  If you haven’t received a link to the heat assignments doc, or have any other questions about the event, please let me know.  All are welcome to cheer, support, and keep score as part of this great community event.

This year the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, the Infant Swim Resource, and Camp Patriot are benefiting from the fundraising efforts.  There’s no minimum donation to participate in Fight Gone Bad, but I’d like to see less $0 totals on our team’s roster.  Please take a moment to think about the meaning of this event, and those you will be helping by making even a small donation.  Consider individuals like Major Daniel Blackmon, who as of September 8th raised just shy of $14,000 while serving his 3rd tour of duty in Iraq.  If Major Blackmon can raise that much while deployed, surely each of us can contribute something while here at home, enjoying the liberty he’s fighting for.

  1. Snatch — 27kg muscle-snatch. Progress has been embarrassingly absent on this one due to neglect.

    WOD — 7rds + 5 reps (1 AbMat HSPU, 24″ box). HSPUs were fast and felt great; high box jumps didn’t feel terrible.

    Great to see the morning crew again, sorry I’ve been cheating on you lately 🙂

    Speaking of FGB on Saturday, Haley and I would like to propose a CFF evening out to celebrate all of our hard work. It would be especially awesome to see all of our new-ish members join us for some socializing.

    Look for Haley – she’ll be handing out tequila shots and dancing on the bar.

  3. snatch: 27kg and then 2x30kg.

    wod: 7+2 with a few rounds of HSPU with 1 abmat and then the last 3ish with no abmat

  5. Snatch 50kg x 3 – felt surprisingly easy. Need to scale up next time.

    6+2 RX – trying to get my feet back up on round 5 included a somersault, some neck roles and fair bit of cursing.

  6. Power snatch: 45kg – big help from Sam on the form.

    WOD: 7+1 w/Hspu. There’s just a certain point where those hspu’s feel impossible. Need to get passed that.
