Fighting the Funk

Over the last few days it’s been cold, wet, windy, generally nasty, and it’s only going to get worse as we get deeper into winter.  Don’t let the weather hold you hostage, trapped inside.  Exercise is one of the best ways to fight through the winter funk.  It’ll get you moving, get you warm, and give you a good endorphin rush.  Keep signing up, and showing up for classes.  Don’t cherry pick workouts, and don’t balk at a little bit of inclement weather.  Neither snow, nor rain, nor gloom of night stays you from the finest fifteen minutes of your day.

On April 23, 2010, CrossFitter and Games athlete Amanda Miller passed away after her battle with melanoma. In memory of her life and friendship, Dave Lipson wished to give back. Dave’s tribute to Amanda is simple: He’s backsquatting at least 450 pounds, every day for a year.  Dave is seeking to raise awareness of skin cancer and it’s dangers, and we’re here to help. By purchasing a shirt here, you’re supporting Dave, Amanda, and skin cancer research. 100% of the profits from the sale of the Amanda Miller/365 Days of Squatting T-Shirts will go to the Melanoma Research Foundation, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for melanoma. Please visit 365 Days of Squatting for more information.

  1. Thanks for the reminder to stave off the funk, Eric!! I’ve always got it pretty bad in the winter, but I have to say, last winter was my best on record, and that absolutely had to do with starting CrossFit!

      1. Sounds good. Which rope do you want? there is one for $3 and one for $24.

Supposedly the $24 is the “fastest rope in the world,” which sounds like it makes things easier… which sounds a little bit like “NO REP!”
