Exploring the Studio Space

Over the last couple of days you may have noticed the not so faint aroma of spray paint wafting about.  Despite my better judgment, with fear of passing out from the fumes and falling off the ladder, I’ve been adding a bright red stripe 10′ up on the walls of the back room.  You may have already guessed the reason for the paint job based on the height.  We’ve got plenty of toys at CrossFit Fenway, but we were lacking an indoor wall ball target.  Not anymore.  On Wednesday we’re going to put the space to use, and get in a little prep for Fight Gone Bad with some Tabata Wall Ball.

Announcements

Fight Gone Bad has raised more than $2 million in its first four editions. This year LIVESTRONG, Wounded Warrior Project, and the CrossFit Foundation are benefiting from the fundraising efforts. On Saturday, September 25th we’ll be running our heats. At this writing CrossFit Fenway has raised a combined $8,436.

The Sox are home Wednesday, so there’s no free parking available during evening classes.

  1. DL: 200kg, I felt better today, I’m better at getting shit off the ground than getting it overhead.

    WOD: total reps – 326

  2. DL: 170kg (failed 175) – should have tried 171 or 172 to get the PR!
    WOD: 163 – terrible DU’s – WB went from easy to hard real fast!

    Only had time for 2 sets of 1. I was going to settle for my previous PR, but then I heard Shruj’s voice in my head like Obi-Wan: “Nathan, use the small plates!” Then I loaded up the rainbow and set a new PR.

  4. Thoughts from an LA hotel gym:
    1. The sound of multiple treadmills causes me anxiety (not trying to be funny here–literally felt a tightness in my chest walking into the room).
    2. If you don’t use machines, people look at you funny.
    3. I miss you all terribly. Kicking my own butt is difficult, at best.
    5 rounds (forgot my watch, so no time to list) of Stacey’s Special…

    10 push-ups

  5. damn. i got some catching up to do on deadlifts… got the PR up to 130kg though, as Stacey kindly reminded me that “that’s a 44# jump. you sure about that?”

    WOD: 110 – WBs and bum shoulder looking better everyday. need to keep working on DUs.

  6. Nice work on DL PRs guys! My back is still feeling a little sketchy from Monday a/m so I’m taking it easy for the day…shame to miss tabatas though.

  7. DL 105kg. New PR by 5kg!

    WOD: 48 @ 10# with DUs. Yep, 48. Had a hard time hitting the target, so lots of wasted effort. Saturday will be interesting.

    1. Just kidding on the WOD, i wanted to see Justin’s face on my 364 to his 326.

      My real WOD count was 164, 50% output then Justin’s. Damn!
