Erika’s Anniversary WOD

Thursday’s workout is special, but it’s not because it’s particularly challenging.  This workout is not super heavy, does not require a great deal of skill, and it’s not a significant volume of work.  No, this one’s special because it’s the first workout Erika Snyder ever did at CrossFit Fenway, and the first time we ever worked out together.  The rest, as they say, is history.

Coach Erika is very excited about this one.  So excited, that we gave it another try a couple days ago to celebrate her birthday, and to make sure we did it before I head out of town for the next week and a half (no worries, you’ll be in Joe’s capable blogging hands).  I’m sure Erika will have Backstreet Boys and N*Snyc blaring, and her dance moves in full effect as shes coaches you through this one.

    I am really dying to be in the homebox again….the road is killing me from a workout perspective. On the upside I have had to get creative with some sparse gyms: lots of bodyweight and dumbbell exercises.

    Strength: 5 minutes accumulated time in handstand pushup (1 min on; 1 min off)

    WOD: 10 rounds
    10 pushups
    10 situps
    10 squats
    11 minutes

    1. Wow Kevin, that’s an awesome travel WOD. I’m in the same boat as you – I’m traveling Monday – Friday for the next few months. But fortunately, I’ve found a CF box nearby. But, i’d like to supplement with some travel WODs. How do you choose yours?

      Also, I’m curious about your HSPU work. I’d like to get better at them myself. I can’t do any right now. Do you find the accumulated time helps?

    WOD: 14:19 – Just shy of Rx – Big class and no 2 pds left, so I used 65# DBs instead, which is the heaviest we have.
    In case anyone is curious 2pd = 70.4#
