CrossFit Fenway Worldwide: Ana in Italy

We asked for it, and you responded, so here’s the first of what I hope to be many installments of CrossFit Fenway Worldwide.

When most of us think of an Italian vacation, sightseeing, sipping wine, and eating pasta may come to mind, but not for the Yanez clan.  Ana, her brother, and her mom Isabel (an occaisional CFF drop-in) decided to scale up their trip to Mount Vesuvius by making the steeper-than-it-looks descent while holding heavier-than-they-look lava stones overhead.  Thanks for the photo Ana!

Registration is now open for the Garage Games New England Finals to be held at CrossFit Southie on November 12th and 13th.  Competitors in the RX division need to be proficient with all barbell movements at 95#/65# and able to do unassisted pull-ups.  Scaled division athletes need similar competence at 65#/45# and able to do purple-banded pull-ups.  Click here to sign up.

  1. hbbs: surprise surprise, 1×55. 3×50.

    WOD:
    2/24 – 12:45 with 22kg
    10/4 – 11:32 with 25kg and probably 85% of the worlds most nontechnical snatches.

    i had a private class this morning, which was sweet. thanks, haley!

    WOD:
    2/24/11: 11:55 @40kg
    10/4/11: 9:54 @40kg (kept it at the same weight but shaved two minutes off my time. next time i will go up in weight!)

  3. HBBS — 60kg, thanks to Eric for the extra prodding to get that last set in

    WOD — 11:04 w/ 27kg “snatches.” Ugly.

  4. HBBS – 70kg for 3, 80kg for 1. Thanks to Frank for making me try a huge jump.

    WOD – 15:20 w/65# snatches. Snatches came one at a time (heyoh!), but there wasn’t much rest in between. I’m a slow runner but felt much faster than usual tonight!

    Today – 10:08 with 40kg
    Pschyed about the progress, but I think I could have gone slightly heavier. Tons of speed demons in the 6 pm class!
