Competition

Yesterday Stacey, Erica Kroon, Patrick Cummings, and I participated in the Winter Mixer at Cynergy Crossfit in Hanson, MA, representing CrossFit Fenway.  We had a lot of fun, and Stacey took home some hardware, placing second among all female competitors.  Check out Cynergy’s website for photos of the great day, full of hanging out with CrossFitters from other affiliates, working out, and competing.

Competition helps us push ourselves for that extra rep in a workout, and is great for setting goals.  Every time you attend a class at CrossFit Fenway you are competing.  You compete with your classmates, driving and encouraging each other to your best.  Most important of all, you compete with yourself.  Not only are you attempting to top your personal records, but you’re also in a struggle against that part of your brain telling you to quit, it’s too hard, too painful to continue.  Every workout is a competition with yourself to go a little faster, a little heavier, and a little harder than last time.  Come to CrossFit Fenway, compete with some awesome people, and have a great time while you’re at it.

Strength: Back squat 5-5-5-5-5

WOD: Baseline

Row 500 meters

40 Squats

30 Sit-ups

20 Push-ups

10 Pull-ups

    1. Yup, just one round, as fast as you can. This is the baseline workout. Some of you have done this before, so you have a time to beat, and can gauge your progress.
