Barbara

Barbara last came up for us on Friday, February 26th, 2010.  If you weren’t part of the CrossFit Fenway family at that time, or if you missed her, this may be your introduction to Barbara.  Those who had the pleasure of meeting Barbara will tell you that this is a true sprint interval metcon.  There’s built in rest, so there’s no reason not to push as hard and as fast as possible through each round.  Check out what you or others did last time, and give yourself a pace to chase tomorrow.

WOD: Barbara

5 Rounds, timed individually of:
20 Pull-ups
30 Push-ups
40 Sit-ups
50 Squats

Rest 3 minutes between each round.

New Services! – CrossFit Fenway is finalizing arrangements for having a few wonderful massage therapists on staff to help you all feel better after a good workout (or anytime). To help us better serve you, please send us an email or post to the comments below about when YOU would most like to have a massage at CFF? Before or after class, and which classes/times? Weekends?

Some of our members are participating in the Hoppin’ Mad Mud Run this Sunday, May 16th at 11 AM in Amesbury, MA.  It’s a 10K run that includes military obstacles.  This is a great chance to put all of your hard work to use in a fun, challenging event.  Please let us know if you’re interested in participating, so we can help get everyone in contact.

Programming Note: There will be no evening classes next Friday, May 21st, as we’ll be headed to Albany to cheer on Stacey, Erica, and other friends of CFF as they compete in the Northeast Regionals for the CrossFit Games.

Parking Update: Parking is available throughout the day Friday, as the Sox are at Detroit, with Clay Buchholz on the mound.

  2. How funny… I just wrote the WOD for CF Elysium tomorrow and it is also “Barbara”. Great minds think alike I guess. Let’s compare some East Coast and West Coast times!

  4. I’m SO excited for this later today! Last time I did it, it was 49:45 with Green Bands and Knee Push-Ups. I think it *may* take longer today, but I’m going to Rx it! I’m stoked!!

    30.03 (purple band); up from 35:38 w/green bands on 2/26.

    Awesome work 7:30 with everyone under 31 min.

    Today: 38:00 w/ 1 purple and 2 red bands w/ box push-ups
    Feb: 47:36 w/ a green/purple combo and all push-ups from my knees

  7. NIce work by everyone this morning! Very impressive!
    My favorite comments: Tiffany ripped during the pull ups, I come over with tape and she says out of breathe “I will tape it on my break!” – awesome – she did not want to loose a single second. Gotta love that!

    Tim, finished the workout and says to me with a long face, “I got the same score I got last time.” My response “Have you subtracted the 12 minutes yet?” You killed it Tim!

    Thank you Stacey for getting in my face on those situps. Barbara was my very first CrossFit workout and I don’t think I even finished it! The 7:30’s pace helped me push through the later rounds. Awesome job guys!

    I’d never done Barbara before, and on the ride to class this morning I kept telling Dennis that I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to finish. Not only did I finish, I finished my first WOD doing pushups from my toes… all 150 of them!

  11. OMG, seriously so hard today-but awesome! Just want to say I love everyone at Crossfit. It’s such a great energy, so supportive. Thanks for the encouragement today Kristin! FTJ, you seriously asked for Barbara?? You are hardcore 🙂 Stacey-love having you in my corner-thanks for pushing me. Haley-my biggest goal is push-ups from my toes (someday I’ll get it)…great job..so impressive!!

  12. 26:13 out here in San Diego, almost 1.5min slower than last time 🙁

    Felt nauseated, dizzy, headache and cold sweats for almost 1 hr afterwards… I realized I was probably hypoglycemic as all I had to eat before all day was a salad. Kind of disappointed and want to do it again under more optimal conditions.
