Angie

Angie’s a high maintenance girl.  She’s a lot of work, but that doesn’t mean she’s not fast.  A lot of times when thinking about high volume workouts in CrossFit we assume the time domain is going to be in the 20 minute range, or longer.  That doesn’t need to be the case with Angie though, she can certainly  be done in less than 20 minutes.  Have a plan for tackling the pull-ups and push-ups, and don’t break up the sit-ups and squats.  Angie is one to attack, not plod through.  Get after her.

  1. This was the first workout that made me feel like a true Crossfitter. When anyone asks “What the hell is Crossfit?” Deadpan, I say, “do 100 pull-ups, 100 push-ups, 100-sit-ups, and 100 squats as fast as you possibly can. That’s one of our workouts. That’s Crossfit.”

I wish I could be there with you guys tomorrow, but unfortunately I skipped town to take a job in San Francisco without much notice. I was only a CFF’er for a few short months, but it was awesome to get to know a few of you while I was there (all the trainers, Kevin, Action Jackson, Shruj, Tiffany, Dan and many more). Talk about a close-knit group. I can’t wait to drop-in next time I’m back there…

I’ve heard good things about San Francisco CrosSFit, and can’t wait to get into the mix with those guys (apparently the gym is outdoors). I’ll send a report back soon.

So PLEASE, when any of you make your way out to SF, definitely look me up. Ted Barbeau, 413.348.5501 or ted.w.barbeau@gmail.com. I’m serious – hit me up!

    Squat more,

    Ted

    1. Ted, we’er going to miss you buddy! It was great working out with you and I definitely pushed myself to the limit trying to keep up with you! I’m sure Tiff and I will be in the SF area at some point so we will definitely give you a shout; maybe even do a drop in WOD with you out there! Take care and keep crossfitting!

    2. Best of luck in San Fran, Ted! We’re going to miss you here in Boston, but I will definitely get in touch when I head out there. I like Shruj’s idea of the drop in WOD. We’ll have to make that happen. Take care bud!

  2. Ted,

Dude, can’t believe you left town!

My lasting image of you will be doing Max Height Box Jumps and you crushing it with a smile on your face (I think that was during my first week and I was super impressed). Hope you enjoy SF. Great town, great people.

Take care and best of luck!

    Kevin

  3. 29:39 with all sorts of props (bands/knees)
Have to say, who doesn’t dig chicks who kip!?! (looking at you Haley and Jenn)
Big shout out to the 5:30 class!!

  4. 1. 24:09. 50 pull-ups on purple and 50 on green. I said I wasn’t going back to assisted pull-ups, but it would have taken me about 45 minutes to get through those.

    2. Seriously, I can’t say enough how much I miss you guys while I’m traveling during the week! Great work 5:30, it was terrific to start my day with you. 🙂

    3. Love the new apparel!

    3. And finally, I have my office holiday party tomorrow night, so I will look forward to meeting you guys out later!

  5. Press 60kgx5, 47.5kgx11
    WOD: 22:28 Rx

Pope, congrats on the PR. Sorry I stole your high-five. I was in the right place at the right time.

  6. Good luck in SF Ted!

29:17 with 30 pull-ups on green, 70 on green and red, and real push-ups. Amazing what that little red band can do!

  7. 27:51 rx

awesome work by everyone this morning!

now lets take bets on how fast yosh gets this one done. i’m thinking sub 13..

  8. First Angie today. 29:56 red and green/ knee push ups. kinda weird, yet great having a crowd around at the end, never would have been under 30 with out you guys:) thank you. oh yeah and i am now just able to lift my arms over my head with out too much trouble…

  9. First Angie today. This is one tough broad.
I was terrible. 36:55. Yep, you read that right.
I suck at pull-ups (with bands) and push-ups (from knees). At least I did the sit-ups unbroken. Now I know what I REALLY need to work on.

    1. And a big thank you to Haley – who stuck by me an encouraged me through my pull-ups when most of the 7:30 class was already on sit-ups.

  10. Scott, you were NOT terrible, you did AWESOME today! You stuck with it and worked hard the whole time… i was SO impressed by your unbroken sit ups and super fast squats – thats some real mental toughness. i have a feeling you’re going to CRUSH angie the next time we see her 🙂

and big thanks to YOU for cheering me through that miserable DU wod.. that set of 45s was killer!

  11. Travel WOD:
Did the same WOD twice this week, Wednesday morning and Thursday night. The nausea of the morning WOD (in addition to the poor results) reminded me of why I only do evenings at CFF.

    (19:20 & 15:10 resp.)
    1 mile treadmill run (6:30),
    21-15-9
    DB swing (20kg)
    DB Squat (20kg)
    Push-ups.

  12. Angie – 30:20RX – 100 kipping pullups (5 at time)

    But Angie, Ain’t it…
Ain’t it good to be alive?
    Angie, Angie
You can’t say we never tried
