AMBAP

As Many Baselines As Possible.  Tuesday we’re taking on a favorite body weight conditioning benchmark, turning it into a time priority workout, and seeing how many times you can get it done in 15 minutes.  Completing a single time through the baseline in around 4 minutes is a solid score.  Can you hit the mark?  Can you hold the pace?  We’ll find out.

  1. Deadlift- 75kg, which was my 1 rep a few weeks back, so…that’s good.

AMBAP, which sadly has gotten the classic late 90s hit of “Mmmmmbop” stuck in my head- 2rds+34m Rx.

First round was 6:48, which I’ll take.

  2. Deadlift – 120kg
    AMBAP – 2 rounds + 278m

not too thrilled with my numbers this morning, not really feeling it..

nice work by everyone this morning..congrats to sam on the BW deadlift (x3!) and to jen on the rx

  3. OK. So I’m in San Diego traveling for work (I don’t expect much sympathy), but I miss you all terribly. I did bring some travel WODs with me, and I figure I’ll still report them on our blog.

    Yesterday
    10 rounds:
    10 burpees
    10 sit-ups
Time: 13:50 (much tougher than I thought)

    Today
    5 rounds:
    20 lunges
    20 air squats
    10 push ups
    Time: 9:40

Also, completed one of my goals on the board this morning! Goal was to complete 25 consecutive double-unders. I had a round of 30 this morning. Now, time to start working on my second goal: 5 unassisted kipping pull-ups…

  4. Deadlift- 96kg. I feel like I’m getting the form down better this time.

WOD: 2 Rounds + 4 Squats Rx. As always, pull-ups slowed me down, but I finally got a few decent kips. Also, for some reason, I now have the song ‘Lean Back’ stuck in my head after the rows.

  5. Deadlift: 130kg
    AMBAP: 2 rounds + 23 sit-ups

Today I followed Patrick’s instructions: I checked my ego at the door, left the weight off the bar, and focused on keeping a tight back for my deadlifts come hell or high water. I’m happy to report that under Joe’s watchful eye, for the first time in my life I managed to keep it tight for a set of (moderately) heavy deadlifts.

  6. Deadlift: 85 kilos. A PR by 10 kgs!

AMBAP: 2 rounds with the green band. Not ideal. Need to work on pullups. And my costume for Saturday.

  7. Deadlift: 80kgs. PR by 10, which felt amazing after and abyssmal yesterday.

AMBAP: 1 plus 18 push-ups. I was thinking “piss-poor performance,” but then realized the last time I did baseline was with push-ups from my knees and a rainbow of bands…

  8. DL- practiced form- still having issues with L behind the knee pain (something is torn or strained)

Metcon: RX 2 rounds + 20 air squats (leg was a little ouchy but felt ok during the moment)
