Though it may sound like we’re trying to ruin your day, we’re just making it awesome.  Fight Gone Bad is a CrossFit benchmark workout originally developed to simulate the time domain of a mixed martial arts match, and now used annually as part of a fundraiser of the same name benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project …

Clean & Jerk

They go together like almond butter and bananas.  Two great things that go great together, like the clean and the jerk.  The clean is the most efficient way to move an object from the floor to the rack position, set up perfectly to be put overhead, and the jerk is the most efficient way to …

Hanging Out

This week we’re going to do a lot of hanging around.  We’ll be on the bars, working knees to elbows, ball ups, and skin the cats.  Practicing these gymnastics moves taxes your core, back, hips, shoulders, and grip, developing great core to extremity strength.  If you’ve been working on a kipping pull-up, or getting more …

Double Your Pleasure

Jumping rope is a great way to improve speed, agility, and coordination as well as a great exercise for working on improving your running stride.  Double-unders take quickness to the next level, taxing the entire body.  Even some very accomplished CrossFitters struggle with double-unders.  Practicing the skill makes for a great warm up, and that’s …

Recovery Time

You yell “TIME!”.  Your workout is complete.  From this point until your next workout, whether it’s in 24 hours, 12 hours, or 10 minutes, is your recovery time.  Are you drinking enough water?  Do you move around and stretch out?  Foam roll?  How’s your nutrition?  What you do to refuel and tune yourself up directly …
